Hard luck to the under 14 Stars and Stripes team who had a terrific match against Brookfield in the semi-finals on Saturday. Rathgar have had a very successful and enjoyable run of matches over the last number of weeks gaining good game practice and experience. The league has also provided a new opportunity to meet plenty of like-minded and enthusiastic players from the other clubs. Many thanks to all who participated and to the parent helpers who made it happen. We look forward to the next Stars and Stripes league.
'Well done to our junior members who participated in the National Matchplays on 28 - 30 March 2014:

The Under 14 Stars and Stripes League has got off to a great start with the Rathgar team winning their first two matches. This is the first such league for the U/14s and runs until the 5 April. The objective of this league is to provide match play for the under 14 age group and to promote friendly competition between the participating clubs. More information on the format and fixtures can be found on the Junior noticeboard.
Over 30 primary school children had a great time at Sunday's fun event on sunday 9th February. Tennis, games and snack are a great combination!
Rathgar recently hosted an inter club teen tennis event for 1st, 2nd and 3rd years. 3 mixed doubles pairings from Rathgar, Templeogue, Brookfield, Deerpark, St. Mary’s and Elm Park took to the courts on a beautiful autumn evening. Derek organised the tennis format and was ably assisted by Laura Barry on the scoring. There was a good standard of tennis and a chance to play a number of different clubs. Brookfield were the overall winners. Afterwards the teens had pizza and the adults had a cuppa. The place was buzzing! The visiting clubs were enthusiastic about the event and some already plan to host similar events. Many thanks to all who helped out on the evening.
